We did 3 years ago, they could not fix it so we had no other option. We were upside down 6K and had spent 7K on repairs and rental cars through the ordeal, the 6K went on the loan for the Ford and the 7K languished on a credit card. So I guess if you look at it as the first 6K that gets paid off on the new loan it's gone already, but I can't help but look at it as the last 6K

So the tab is:
Crappy '98 Jimmy (including 4 years interest): 29,000
Upside down cash (including interest through the following loan): 9,700
Repairs on CC (plus interest over 3 years): 10,300
Total: $49,000 for 4 years use of a moderately equipped GMC Jimmy

Not driving a GMC... Priceless...
