I ended up having to order the version of shocks that can be mounted piston-down until I can get a bracket for the shock mount on the axle tube... I called up Rubicon Express in California and they said that the problem I described above occurs with a few YJ's. (I got one of those special ones) :-P Earlier this summer RE was supposed to release an extention bracket for the rear axle lower shock mount, but I have yet to see anything from them.

I had the same problem with my 4" lift, and I just installed the rear shock absorber upside down... RE siad the white deutchtech absorvers can be run upside down no problem, though.
