The cardan shaft is very cool.

And thanks for adding the "turn it off feature". I can see that it might get annoying for a frequent reader such as myself to have a bunch of those show up in the posts. But, that's just me.

	Cardan A universal joint, U joint, Cardan joint, Hardy-Spicer joint, or Hooke's joint is a joint in a rigid rod that allows the rod to 'bend' in any direction, and is commonly used in shafts that transmit rotary motion. It consists of a pair of ordinary hinges located close together, but oriented at 90° relative to each other.
