Most Hybrids now use the smallest internal combustion engine possible to increase fuel economy along with the battery packs.

Can you imagine being out in the backcountry in your Hybrid Jeep...

I would think you would need a blown 427 just to compensate for the increased weight of the batteries needed to push the already stout (read heavy) Jeep over the rough stuff.

Unless you just puttered around town mostly on your batteries...this would seem to defeat the purpose of most Jeeps used for off road purposes...then where's the great gas savings?

Sometimes a great notion requires some forethought (as someone mentioned earlier).
