front end shake

i have an 88 comanche 4x4 with 31's and here lately the front end has wobbled to the point where it feels like its just gonna fall out. the wheel bearings are shot but this is just insane. it usually does it eround 40mph. any ideas? thanks

It could be the steering stabilizer or also know as the death wobble my started to shake and vibrate the whole car alround 50 to 60 mph the when I did the lift I change stabilizer out and it never did it again since I would start then and also when ur under there check all the bushings and make sure nuthing else is wore out

It's normally caused by worn bushings or tire issues. Swap the front tires to the back and see if it changes at all. Then start going through your suspension, checking the torque on all bolts and looking for bad bushings.

my comanche did the same thing when i bought it. that is the reason i got it for 300 bucks. mine was the steering stabilizer was bad

Steering stabilizer won't cause death wobble but it will hide it a little. If it did I'd be in trouble since I don't run one. If it's at certain speeds it's most likely a tire balance issue. Worn bearings will cause it as well as steering linkages, ball joints and loose or worn out track bars.

The trac bar has been loose on the driver's side of every XJ and MJ I've owned so far.
