This is aggrivating

Ive got a 93 yj and the transmission and transfer case are about gone and the axles isnt strong enough. I was wondering if anybody has took a older ford truck and put the transmission transfer case and axles in there jeep. or would it work

i just swapped the full size axles from a 79 ford into my jeep without much problems. i also did a soa at the same time and beleive it or not the front dana 44(soild tube) perchs bolted up with a little reaming of the center hole. the rear ford 9 inch 31 spline, required the movment of shock and spring perches though...wasnt too much work. i would post a pic but i dont know how. if you give me yoyr e-mail i can send you some.

Sounds like you should just take the body off the jeep and put it on the Ford.

You should not have any problems that cant be corrected by a little welding or cutting. My next project is a ford 9 inch, and I do not have any fab skills but now that I will get it figured out. You may want to consider keeping your t case if it lines up with your pinions. The NP231 is not a bad unit. But if you have an NP205 or such laying around might as well go for the gusto!

Main issue is if the transmission will bolt to your engine, and if there is an adapter bellhousing made to fit.

Usually better to save the money from adapters and just use the donor vehicle's engine.
