Red Lake to Blue Lakes trail

Here are some more pics taken on another trip. Red Lake is off HWY 88, south and west of Lake Tahoe. The trail is has deteriorated some over the last 4 years, so if you are using an older "trail guide", be aware of some more exciting area.

This trip was in mid-September 2006 and there was still some snow around.

Also, have you ever noticed how much more loose rock and slick granite there is ... and how much steeper the incline when going up then once you've reached the top?

Can not tell you how many twists there are in that old tree. It is at the summit of the Forestdale Divide at ~8900'
