Advice on removing steering shaft
Hello. I see that I will have to remove my steering shaft in my 1975 CJ5 to get my new headers on. Has anyone done this? There is a U-joint near the fire wall with a sleeve that has a bolt in each side above and below it. I'm wondering if removing those bolts will allow it to come out?
I would think that even after removing one or both of these that the shaft would have to slide towards and into the steering box so that the shaft will come out of the sleeve. Will it slide in? I only need the top off, then I imagine I could just swivel it out of the way. Hoping that I dont have to remove the steering box! Any advice appreciated!

Remove the shaft at the steering box, remove one bolt and the shaft should slide towards the firewall and off the steering box.
