needed a 99 cherokee passenger wheel bearing
I have a 99 cherokee sport 4x4 i need a passenger side wheel bearing. ASAP. i am located in 48154 for the shipping rate if you are not near. If anyone has one or if you know where i can get one for cheap and the directions on how to do it it would be awesome.
Also if anyone knows of a good jeep mechanic with good prices in the Metro Detroit area that would be awesome also. Thanks everyone.

Re: needed a 99 cherokee passenger wheel bearing
They're a pain to remove. Once you remove the axlenut, I'd recommend backing the 3 bolts out 1/8" that hold the hub assembly on. Then place a socket over the bolt head and strike them with a hammer, driving the hub assembly off the knuckle. Do this in 1/8" increments and it should work fine.
You need a 13mm 12pt. socket for the hub bolts, and a 36mm socket for the axlenut.
I'm cheap, and often installed used bearing assemblies when I ran a D30. They work, but not for long. Nice to now have serviceable bearings in the d44.

Re: needed a 99 cherokee passenger wheel bearing
That noise is likely from the bearing. As far as how long it will take to remove it... that all depends on how easily it will come out of the steering knuckle. Just be patient, and use well placed hammer strikes. When you go to install a new bearing, apply a layer of anti-sieze to the mating surface (bearing-to-knuckle), and to the threads on the bearing bolts. You MUST use a 12-point socket to remove those bolts.
