Why is it when you fix one thing on these hogs evereything else decides not to work anymore? Do the old Jeep parts get jelous?Or does the Jeep just want to see me freeze out in the garage for a few hours?[addsig]

I know what you mean- but also keep in mind that if you do not use your Jeep properly it will break down more too- (meaning that if you don not use it off-road for its intended purpose things seem to break a little more often too.....)[addsig]

I have had my 78 CJ5 since February 13, 1989. I love it dearly - I have, however, come to the conclusion that Jeeps are very similar to women. No matter how hard you work, no matter how much you put into her, she will never be satisfied.
If you spend a weekend working on her, she'll want three days next time. If you spend 60 bucks for something, next time she'll want 80. God forbid if she catches you looking, or worse - coveting - another man's Jeep; she'll seize up solid, and you'll have to get a new set of gears.
"Thou shall not hold any other false Jeeps before thee"
"Thou shall not covet another man's Jeep"
But, no matter what she'll put you through - you can't get her out of your mind... [img]modules/phpBB_14/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] [addsig]

Oh thats nothing...in the past 48 hours....I have:
Bolted a bellhousing, clutch components, and shift tower on my transmission
Bolted my NP231 onto said transmission
jacked, lifted, and grunted said transmission & NP231 into my jeep
bolted said transmssion to the engine
installed shifters for both items
installed rear driveshaft
connected all electrical connectors to transmission and Tcase
installed skid plate
Finding out the transmission was broken and needed repair I then:
removed skid plate
removed all electrical connectors
removed rear driveshaft
removed NP231 and transmission shifters
unbolted NP231 and heaved it out from under my jeep
unbolted the back half of the AX5 transmission
made necessary repairs (removal) to the 5th gear of said transmission
cleaned and applied gasket to halves of transmission
bolted transmission halves back together
jacked up and bolted NP231 into place
installed rear drive shaft
installed shifters
intstalled all electrical connectors
installed skid plate
And I still need to:
install front driveshaft
weld exaust crossover back on
fix and seal the vacuum connector for 4wd
and then maybe I will be done...whew I am beat.
I think I am going to go to bed now.
