IS THERE ANYBODY THAT KNOWS HOW TO RECONNECT THE DOOR SENSOR ON A 2000 TJ. THE LIGHT ON THE OVERHEAD SPEAKER WORKS, IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING. [addsig]

What do you mean by "reconnect"? If the light overhead goes on the contact is being made. Do you want to remove the door sensor. I had a 2000 TJ so I am sure I am can help you. Just clarify a little.[addsig]

It sounds like the sensors were disconnected earlier so you could take the doors off without killing your

battery. If that's the case, reach your hand up behind the dash (if the 97 I have is like the 2000)

behind where the sensor sits. Feel around for a dangling connector. If I remember right, it's a push and

twist fitting... Although it's been four years since I disconnected it.

If the wire is connected, make sure it is fully seated (push, twist, click, something).

If those two options aren't it, look for a switch on the overhead light. Most cars overhead lights have

three positions (I don't have a speaker bar, so not sure about those). The positions are On, Off, and

Door. Yours may be in On. Move it to Door and it should come on when the doors open... HTH

Cooper.

Oh, and a friendly heads up: typing in all caps LIKE THIS usually means you're yelling... [addsig]

No problem, welcome to Jeepz...

Was that the info you were looking for? I'm still not clear on what isn't working on your jeep. Hope I

was able to hit it right tho. You know what they say about people who hammer in the dark... they

have big thumbs. [img]modules/phpBB_14/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

Instead of taking the sensor off when I take my doors off I just pull the fuse. Check that too.[addsig]

I think I may have the door figured out. I don’t have any pics. on the rack yet, I need to get that done. I was able to haul about 300 lbs. of deer meat ( on the hoof ) with out any problems at all; I found out that an ATV cover would fit it perfectly. Ill will try to get some pictures of the rack and post them on jeepz. [addsig]
