does anybody out there run a true dual exhaust setup on a TJ with a 4.0? I'm not sure how you'd pull it off, split headers maybe? if it's possible, is there any real advantage to running it this way? I'm afraid it might change the exhaust note to sound like a tractor or one of those little "high performance" civics out there. just curious.[addsig]

i think I've heard of it being done. theres a guy at my school with a 4.2 w/ dual exhaust but I dont know if it'll work witha 4.0. I'd like to do it myself if it's possible.[addsig]

If you already have a header and catback why do you want to switch to duals???[addsig]

The 4.2 can be true dueled, because it goes from 6 to 2, and then another piece from 2 to 1. The 4.0 doesn't have the same set up, but could be done with a set of custom headers.[addsig]

do like borla headers or whatever fits on yours and like a custom Y pipe your duals would probably have to come out before the rear axle somehow b/c of the gas tank.[addsig]

anything can fun duals... its simply all in the way you can customize it... but not everything is efficient with duals... the engine's performance is aided by the vacuum created in the exhaust pipes, otherwise known as scavenging... many times, duals will cut low end torque and kill the scavenging effect... sure it can be done, but it might not be worth the money and time[addsig]
