I am in the market for new tires and I was wondering which size tires would be better... 30" or 31"? My 97 is a every day driver and I hope to do some "off-road" stuff one of these days. Do both sizes fit well? Is 31" too big or is 30" ok? Just wondering what the popular opinion would be!!!

generally speaking, 31's are the largest tires you can stuff under your jeep without a lift. if you get the sport (sahara maybe?... i'm not the wrangler expert here, but anyway...) package from the dealer, they come with 30's...
other factors to consider would be price, and if you flex up your suspension really good, the 31's might rub... in which case you're dealing with trimming fenders OR going back to 30's...[addsig]

31's fit fine on stock TJ's, but if you do any kind of serious wheelin, you might want to consider a lift of at least 1 3/4 coil spring spacers.[addsig]
