Hello there all! I have concern about my 4.0 xj,s oil pressure what is the average pressure? Second ? what causes this ? And also what is the best way to rectify this prob!! Thanks in advance! Steve, :-D [addsig]

oil pressure is usually somewhere between 20 and 60... depending on how cold the engine is, and how much oil you have in there, and if the oil pump is working, and if there are bad leaks anywhere. the oil pressure sensor is located below the oil filter, and has 2 wires on it. very easy to replace, costs 40 bucks at napa, and about 5 minutes to replace.[addsig]

yup... if you unplug the clip from the sensor, and oil comes out... it is a sure sign the pressure sensor is shot. i went through this mess with my friend's grand cherokee...[addsig]
