How can I find out what kind of axles are on my jeep? I've got a 76 cj7 with a 304 v8 in it. Is there somewher eI can look to find out what kind of axles are there? :-? [addsig]

It would be an AMC 20 in the rear, IF he didn't have Quadratrac 4wd. It's probably a Dana44 in the rear with the offset differential. [addsig]

i didnt think after 75 dana 44 were put into jeeps untill 86 in the cj-7[addsig]

I think Quadratrac equipped CJ's would be the exception to that rule. Probably not often mentioned because this axle is not a viable swap to upgrade the rear axle from an AMC20 to D44, since it has the diff offset so far to the passenger side.

I'm pretty sure all Quadratrac 4wd systems used the D44, I know it's true for SJ's and figure it also applies to CJ's.[addsig]
