OK, maybe I just cannot see this right in my mind. Or maybe I am right. Ther was an article about someone using a 3.5" lift from a YJ in a CJ. I thought this sounded really cool. The YJ has a wider front spring to hopefully improve handling and the lift is a little shorter to keep center of gravity down.

The way it was accomplished was to move the shackle end spring hangers front or back depending on front /rear to handle the extra lenght of a YJ versus CJ spring. That's fine but doesn't this also move the axle? It might not be much but enough that new driveshafts might be needed, right? The axle seat of a YJ is still centered in the length of the spring right?? Just trying to get all the facts.

Could a person leave the spring hangers alone(upgrade to a wider one in the front of course) but use boomerang shackles to handle the extra length?

I figure someone out there knows the answer. Thanks
