I saw a topic a few weeks ago saying there was a gear oil that was Candy to a Jeep. What was this? I wanna get this done. For some reason after trailing for a little while my shifting seams to get a little harder.[addsig]

Peenzoil Synromesh I bought mine at AutoZone and it was the only place I could find it around here. But it is so smmoth in the ol tranny you will think you have a new one in there. I have an AX5 and it took just over 4 quarts could have gotten by with just 4 but now I have extra just in case. Tug[addsig]

yup... it should be about $5 per quart. I bought 2 quarts of that, and 2 quarts of a gl-4 fluid... my ax-15 took almost 4 quarts... i think 3 1/3 was it... i put in the 2Q of penn SM, then filled the rest with the gl-4, if i had the money, i surely would have gone all pennSM.. but i the garage had a free spot, and didn't have enough for all pennSM... it flows really easily too, unlike regular gear oil, you can pour it down a funnel through a tube into the tranny unlike most oils... or you can get a suction gun, that makes it really easy[addsig]

Don't use the GL4 unless it's Redline MT90 or MTL, otherwise use a GL3 rated gear oil in the Aisin/Warner AX5 and AX15 trannies.
The AX5 holds 3.5 qts. I used Redline MT90 which is specially formulated to be easy on the soft synchronizers in these trannies. Any other GL4 or GL5 has a high sulfer content and is very corrosive to the synchros.[addsig]
