bumping noise coming from the back

i am really new to jeeping. i have a stock 2000 wrangler 4.0 ltr. in the winter, i hit a pot hole (i mean crater) with 4 people in the jeep. now whenever there are people in the back seat, i get a bumping noise coming from somewhere in the back. but when it is just me and my wife. no noise. did i bend something? please help. everything looks fine under there :-? Is the bumping noise only when you hit a bump?

From the sound of what caused the problem, it sounds like a broken rear shock or broken rear shock mount. Crawl underneath and take a good look at the rear shocks, try to move them around by hand. Shouldn't be anything with the springs. Also check the bumpstops inside the coil springs, make sure they are still in place, the rubber pieces are a press fit.[addsig]
