I was wondering if the new roll bar speaker housings for '03 wranglers were waterproof?
If anyone knows for sure it would be great to know. I'll keep em if they are other wise they're coming out. Thanks :-? [addsig]

Not too sure about the 03's but my 97's were not. I checked them out and they had paper cones. Take a look at yours, if the cones are paper get you self a new set with poly cones, they are much more water resistant. My buddy used some marine speakers in his from Pioneer and they sound OK but were pretty expensive. I have a set of infinity in mine and have gotten them wet and had no problems.[addsig]

Thanks, I have a set of Pioneer's (poly) to put it. I was wondering if the housing itself was h2o proof. It looks pretty h20 tight but I can't tell for sure w/o pouring water over them. I guess I could try it w/ the stock speakers and then switch them out.
Thanks again. [addsig]

Mine have been wet a few times. Good Old Georgia weather throws suprise T-storms at ya. from what I have looked at the top is solid and the clip lip is pointed down, which means, water can't run UP and into the enclosure. I really don't see any problem unless you spray water up into the speaker itself. [addsig]

Thanks again, That sounds right. I don't plan on hosing down the interior anytime soon so hopefully it'll be safe. :-D [addsig]

Just hold on to the Polys JIC (Just In Case) then you can always replace if needed. :-D [addsig]

My 00 TJ speaker bar got caught in a few rainstorms and was fine. I think they are fairly water resistant.[addsig]

Thanks, I like the full speaker bar but the 03's come with the small enclosures behind each seat. I'm gonna assume that they can handle some water exposure w/o ruining my speakers. I'm in WA and can never guess when the rain is gonna start. I'd also like to get a bikini top and was hoping to avoid having to get the safari style. My '95 had an aftermarket speaker bar that was fine but you never know w/ the stock enclosures.
Thanks All!!! 8-) [addsig]
