Commando 1971 V6 looking to purchase what to look out for???

Ahoy Jeepsters.. I am looking at purchasing a 71 Commando with the std V6.... reported to have leaking pan seals??? now how can I tell the diff betwix this and leaky rear main bearing seal... and what are my alternatives... this has full power and auto...
Also.... what else should I look for... and how do you operate those 4wd hubs....yea Iam a babe in the woods.. here..TIA for any help

Well the main things are rust, engine blow any smoke, and if the 4wd works good ...How much for it???

It is not going anyplace any time soon and the guy is still seting on his price. He did just buy a piece of land in Misouri nad said he will be movengn soon say oct nov so maybe we can get the price a little closer to a happy point for us both by then. The body is shot but the 304 would be nice in tugly. tug

Greetins you Jeep-a-holics... and that't a good thing.. I got no use for anybody with out A passion...
Well I got it..... not in quite as good shape as I though or would have liked.. but it will do fine..... TOOOO much oil everywhere to see where it is comming from but I suspect it was just a loose valve cover bolt.... She don't appear to be burning any oil , but the carb adjust is WAY off.. black smoke.. .. and I got a issue with the exhaust manifold... the drivers side manifold has one of the mounting ears to the pipe broken off and leaking.. does anyone know if the Buick manifold will fit.. this is a 225 Dauntless V6..... TIA.. get out there and run something over!!!!!!!!!
