Anyone see this?? I cracked up laughing at some of their comments. I am sure "some" will be offended or even shocked they made the list. Obviously just a loose list one of the guys created. I have to agree with almost all of it. Sorry rubicon owners I have to agree with him. most people that build a rubicon aren't planning any real 4x4 trips. Who can afford to screw one of those up?? If you can afford to waste 30-40K to make it a TRUE 4x4 you might aswell make a one of a kind custom that doesn't need waxing or valet parking. Maybe if Scorpion or Spyder had 0 down and low interest payment plans...........
I have one in my parking lot that someone spent an additional 11K in accessories. He took it out once and snapped a sway bar link and hasn't been off road since. Sure looks Kweeeeel though. That's worth a house payment!!

Although I have to disagree on a couple things Like the testicals or the Name emblazed on the side of the Jeep's hood (Tug, I got your back!!) Just checking to see what everyone thought.

I personaly think JP needs to stick to tech articales and useable Jeep info and leave oppions to the readers. I always rebel against simple minded pub's and the even simpler minded think they know to much over paid wrighters there in. I can call up JP to day with a mod that can be bought for a small price that will make a Jeep better and never get in the pages. I can be a Great Big Corp willing to pay the price for the ad work and sell a piece of crap mod that is marginal at best and it will be on the cover. Never put to much faith into a $$$ bottom line rated pub. Not pickin on JP it is all the major special interest pubs to include our national rated new media groups. Just my two cents. tug

Yea I too hate Rags in general. In fact I hardly buy them unless I need info. Once I make a decision on the info given and "my" opinion I usually never look at them again.

But for some strange reason I got this issue. I was checking out the military machines books/mags for buy and sell stuff and it caught my eye.

I look for the tech articles myself as well. Most of the time thier opinions and mine differ. But I dont get paid 50k a year to write them.
But I have to agree with one, on page 71 third article down ( garbage trucks) I would have to drive just about any where in the US to beat a fellow Jeepster who bought the DJ Surrey. Carnation PINK! I can see it now with a set of testies hanging off the back with monster 39's...ewww baby.

I love JP's Red TJ project Jeep, they put on the 2.5" Rancho lift instead of a 4" lift, to help the common man save money on the lift and SYE (nevermind that the Rancho kit and shocks are more expensive than most 4" systems). Of course with the 32" tires and the stock diff the jeep is a little sluggish, so they strap a supercharger........... to keep it cheaper so it applies to the common man?

First Trip With My Cherokee

Was afraid that I would be bombarded with the "I cant believe Tug dont love the JP rag" thing. Good to know there is a group here that can see my point on these pubs. They are not hard fought for the common man rags they are all about who is willing to pay us to say nice things about there products and ways of doing things. And when they stray from the real Jeep info and start to pick on web sites and real jeepers in the world that is where I draw the line. Like you said a Super Charger for the common cure for the comman Man's need for power. heheheh Get Real! tug

Hehehehee toooooo true!!!

Yea I hate the way rags focus what can we build with a unlimited supply of
sponsorship toys. The last Monster garage I watched was the rock crawler show. What a F%$king joke. You have three grand and seven days to make something out of nothing,........Oh But here is 30K in the best money can buy toys to bolt on. AND HE STILL BROKE IT!!!
That gained the show the worst POS award I can hand out.

Rags follow the same proccess, total BS. Lets see more tech articles on how to take a semi shot CJ 7 and make it trail worthy with 200 a month. NO freebies, no Currie interprise, help, no donated tech, help, parts, etc...

But all rags are the same, it starts out cool with great ideas, then the bean counters start working to make money. After all money is the only reason they exist.

But since they are enough starrie eyed kids who'd own the ultimate Jeep and live in a run down apartment just to be cool with the crowd, they survive.

And on a funny note, I hate rags because they are the ruuuuits of "evil" Those ad guys are too good for my will power. Everytime I get one I see something I "just" gotta have.....................*******s!!!

Obssesive Compulsive disorder floods the brain, and drains the pockets.

JP used to be a good, grass roots do-it yourselfer type of mag, but since petersons bought them, theyre just like all the others. Who the hell needs all that XTREME garb? Man everything is XTREME now, from jeeps to makeovers. They couln't leave well enough alone! I think it is Xtremely stupid. my$.02

twisted. If you won (I ment own but won works too) a jeep I don't think you could leave well enough alone. But it is rediculous how overboard they go. I do get a few mags but I just like to read what is going on. I do not like JP I don't need to hear how they got drunk and went wheelin. They need to be a little more responsible about what they print. I also hear enough cussin' around the world I don't need to read it from "professionals"
