I found a white 91 cherokee, auto 4.0L, with just over 100k on it. The guy wants 1600 bucks for it! It's a little stinky inside but nothing a detail place cant handle... I don't like the fact that it's auto but oh well. Otherwise it's pretty clean, has no huge dents... oh and it doesn't have the towing package with the D44 dang it. I think I'm gonna get it.

and you will find that the automatic tranny is real sweet on the trails. Add in a tera-low or any 4:1 reduction gear in the transfer case and you can climb tree's, ;owered PJ's and any thing else that you can get the front tires onto...lol

D44 wasn't an option in '91, think it ended in '89, if it's any consolation. A D44 from an XJ or the later 8.25" from the tow package equipped XJ's will bolt right in, and be considerably stronger, if you're worried about that D35.

New plan, I'm not buying it anymore... I can't afford it since I'm doing all this stuff to my YJ. So my dad is going to buy it and I'll just coax him to get lifts, tires, and all the goodies. Now I don't have to spend a penny! The only thing He doesn't want to go crazy with it, small lift with maybe 31s... if it goes offroad at all it will be me taking it there probably... unless I talk him into a father son trip.

help guessing my lift... (cj7)

Small lift? He'll need at least 4.5" to clear the 31" tires. Luckily you may be able to lift it that much with no driveline mods like SYE or TC drop, since it's an older XJ. It's the '97 and newer that get terrible vibes when they even see the lift kit box

Well it's small compared to what I'm doing to my YJ! I told him around a 3" lift to get 31s in but I wasn't sure... It's still up in the air, he hasn't bought it yet.
