My '79 cherokee has the Quadratrac in it. the vacuum switch in the glove box girgles when running and is wet with oil. Where would it be sucking oil into the vacuum lines from? Has anyone delt with this befor, and what will cure it? :?

sorry, I don't have a clue about the quadratrac system. I'll ask the local jeep guru and see what he says.

What kind of oil is it?

If it's Transfer case oil and your T-case has a vacuum switch mounted to it, then that switch is most likely leaking in the oil.

If it's engine oil, maybe you've got a clogged PCV/CCV system that's causing oil to be sucked back into the vacuum system.

New Jersey Trails?

Smells like oil, I also just discovered/ realized the e-switch in glove box doesn't switch the transfer into emergency drive. So my next trick will be to start tracing that. Might find where it's coming from in my search. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know what I find for refrence. :?
