Main Computer gone bad!!

I bought a new Jeep Liberty (Limited) on Saturday.. and on the following Tuesday my main computer died. Here's what would not work: keyless entry, power locks, speedometer, headlights, interior lights, A/C compressor, overhead computer, windshield wipers, steering wheel mounted radio controls. But.. and a big but.. the beast cranked up and was driveable.. except with no headlights and windshield wipers I was lucky the computer died near a dealer!

So I took it right back to the dealer and they offered me a swap for another similarly equipped one or a rental car till mine was fixed. I wanted mine (color int/ext.).. so I took the rental car. But eegads.. the Computer takes over a week to order and get shipped back to the dealer; apparently the computer has to be specifically programmed with all the current info about your liberty.. current mileage, etc.. at the factory. So now its been over a week and I am still waiting.

I called the corporate offices and inquired about the lengthy delay, the corporate customer rep was able to locate my jeep and the ordered replacement parts. He also called the dealer to "help speed" things along.

My question is this.. has any other Liberty owners had a similar failure of the main computer? [img]modules/phpBB_14/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img] [addsig]

I don´t know about your particular Liberty. But at the docks,the roll on roll off car carriers, they fry about a dozen computers a week (at a thousand dollars a pop) by not paying attention to the plus, minus when jumping off some of the jeeps. Something to file away and remember.[addsig]
