My friends check engine came on and I have a code reader Ironically the only manual that I could find was the spanish version p0500 Mal funcionamientto en sensor de velocidad del vehiculo I took two years of spanish in highschool so I am thinking it is the speed sensor located on the back of the transfer case. Just want to make sure thanks

Here's some info in english:
Example P0101

1st digit B-Body, C-Chassis, P-Powertrain, U-Network

2nd digit 0-SAE, 1 mfg

3rd digit 1 Air & Fuel Metering
2 Air & Fuel Metering (Injector Circuit)
3 Ignition System or Misfire
4 Auxiliary Emissions Controls
5 Vehicle Speed Controls And Idle Control System
6 Computer Output Circuit
7 Transmission
8 Transmission

4th & 5th digit - two place fault code 0-99

Looks like it's your "5 Vehicle Speed Controls And Idle Control System", so it's either the speed sensor on the tailshaft of the transfer case, or the IAC sensor on the throttle body.
