I just purchased my first jeep. A 78 cj5 golden eagle. It needs paint & I'm not crazy about brown. Almost all the golden eagles I can find on the net are brown. Two I've found are white. Was this package only available on brown and someone just put the decals on the two white ones or could it be had on any color? I'd like to paint it red or white.

well, i dont get it. are you trying to keep it all original? if so brown is the color of the golden eagle,if you paint it white, it will look like a bald eagle, and if you paint it red, it will look like a cardinal. DARE TO BE DIFFERANT [paint it whatever you want]

Re: golden eagle package

The "Golden Eagle" package looked sharp in the Oakleaf Brown paint color. I think it was the only color offered during the 1977 model year when the GE package was ordered.

Re: golden eagle package

Perhaps this is a stupid question but wasn't "Dixie", Daisy's CJ on the Dukes of Hazzard, a white Golden Eagle? I dont know what year Dixie was though...I'll have to look that up.

Edit: Wikipedia says that Dixie is a "1980 Jeep CJ-7 enchristened "Dixie" with a Golden Eagle emblem on the hood", so I guess maybe it's not actually a "Golden Eagle" model then.
