Caliper pistons Wont push back out

help!! Replaced rear brakes on 2010 Jeep Compass. Both pistons in the calipers wont push back out when brakes are applied. Everything was working fine before brake job.

Are you having this problem in just one caliper, or in multiple?

When you did the brake job, did you open the bleeder valves, and possibly introduce air into the system?

Does it have a duel piston on one caliper? Regaurdless how did push the piston back into the caliper? If you didn't push it back in straight it can be caught in the housing or if done too fast could have blown the seal.

On top of the above tips.

Not sure on the compass calipers but many of them corrode on the exposed area. If you push them back too far they damage the seal and will leak. If they leak you will see it.
Did you bleed the brakes?
Are the lines pinched or crimped?
Did you fill the reservoir?
Do you feel pedal?
Any leaks or cracks in the lines?

X2 on all posts but have seen aluminum calipers ( not sure on the compass either ) become troublesome in the past regardless of make. If you find any leaks or signs of corrosion , price out a set. The Pistons have traveled past their normal travel and it's likely rings of corrosion inside the sealing ring is damaged and if not leaking , will leak. The piston(s) may not be traveling straight in its bore since the brake job and compressing the Pistons and caused this problem . This does happen , calipers working fine , then leaking , seizing or dragging pads due to poor return when pedal released. Try having someone press and release the brake pedal while you observe the piston movement. Rotate the tire to feel for drag. Cast iron calipers can do the same but aluminum are noted for this sooner and brake fluid flushing is recommended more often because of this . Hope this helps .
