Greetings All:

I have an '86 Comanche 4x4, 2.8, 5Spd

I recently purchased a Dana60 Rear, out of a F250.

Has anyone installed another rear in there Xj, or anyone

know of any links to where i can get some more info.

I know the housing is alot bigger, and im going to lose some

ground clearance. Anyone with some experience in this

area would be more than helpful. What would the pro's

and con's be of installing this rear. Any help would be

greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Stiggity

Yeah:

I am pretty sure the Dana60 will not bolt right in.

As far as fabricating the rear-end too fit into my

"truck", i have a MIG Welder, O/A Torche, and

the rest of the "goodies" to install the rear. I

guess my question should have been more along

the lines of, Have any of the Guru's, or more

experienced people, attacked a project of this

difficulty level? And if so, what problems were

encountered, any "hints", "tips", URL's to actual

dox on the install.

Also,

What advantages would i gain on an this install?

An obvious strength advantage, but is it worth it

losing all that ground-clearance with the much

larger "Pumpkin". Driveshaft/Spring-Perch(sp),

steering linkage, etc.. shouldnt be All-That Diffi-

cult. Again, any help will be greatly appreciated.

-Regards,
