I have a 1990 Cherokee 4.0 4x4. It does not blow out hot air after driving around for atleast 1/2 hour. I am planning on putting a new thermostat in. I do notice that when its cool outside (50 or below) the temp gauge doesnt even reach 160 degrees. Then when its warm outside 60 or above the temp gauge does reach 210 and blowing out warmer air. Am i on the right track putting in a new thermostat? Thanks, Doug

you sure are!!

if the thermostat is broken it usualy stays in the open position, that means the engine can't reach a normal working temp.

because of your engine being cold, the heater stays cold as well.

it will likely be fixed if you replace the thermostat.

greetings from holland.
