Hello all!!

I've had this prob with my '97XJ Sport for some time now...(Today too)

Once in about every 150 starts the engine will turn over fine, but then it'll

idle very eratically. The tach will jump from 900rpm (normal) , to 200rpm to

500rpm, and then will eventually stall out, before putting it in gear.

I turn off the ignition and wait for @ 30 seconds and it fires right up with no

problems at all. I don't know. It's almost like it's not getting fuel. Fuel pump going out??

If anyone knows what's going on please reply!!! It causes mad panic while out

on the trail!!!Thanks in advance!! [addsig]

i'd check for vacuum leaks or a stick throttle cable. clean out your throttle body. [addsig]
