Hello, Im looking at this jeep tomrrow.. its very clean 1989 jeep cherokee 4.0 6cyl. has 110,000.00 miles, runs great, body is in good condition so is interior. custom front/rear bumpers, custom suspension lift 5.5 inches, with Fox gas shocks. new rims/tires i believe 32 inch tires mud terain. its a very clean jeep, and runs like a champ. I think the guy is going to be looking for maybe.. 3500-4k. not sure yet though tomorrow will be the day i find the price out from him. The truck hasnt even really been taken off road yet he recently purchased it stock and has done all this work him self hes a machanic and knows his stuff. so everyone is welcome to post ur opinion on the price it may be worth, and does it sound like a deal for the prices i have stated i think i can getnit for. thanks [addsig]

That sounds like a good price. But if I were you I would take it to a mechanic and hace it checked over. But other than that go for it. Evan[addsig]

hmm... a small flag is going up because of the fact that it already has been lifted and has the oversized tires... perhaps it has been used/abused already?
the only other things that raise conern is the paint (has the clearcoat chipped?) and the fact that it is carbeurated... i was sure to get a '90 or newer to avoid the carb'd nonsense...[addsig]

I'd be concerned with the fact that it's newly modified and he wants to get rid of it. Give that Jeep a good look-over! -Mike [addsig]

Well.. hehe.. He doesnt actully wanna get rid of it. but hes a machanic for drag race cars and flys out of town every weekend to work on the drag cars.. and he has a brand new truck, and his jeep he got a few months or so ago, and it just sits because hes never home, but, I think for the right price he'll sell it. hes a good friend of mine just never really thought of purchasing it till the other day, I talked to hima lil bit about it today and i think if i offered him like 3500 cash he'd probably sell it. I will for sure look it over, but ive been in it and driven it a few times so it seems good thanks for the imput though! GO JEEP OR GO HOME [addsig]

An 89 4.0L has fuel injection. Don't let big tires and a lift make you think its woth more than a stocker. If anything, it should be worth less because of the modifications and the fact that you dont know what it has been through. Point this out and use it as leverage. If I were you though, I would be looking for a '91 or newer with the H.O. motor. I've seen cherokees as new as '96 with similiar and/or less mileage go for around the same price that you are guessing.
Good Luck,
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the information, I've not been around jeeps long, but since I have in the past few months I picked up an 86 jeep cherokee 2.5 4 cyl, for 300 bucks, the clutch went out and needs to be fixed, and the kid couldnt get it to start, all the problem was with the starting was crank sensor. plug that bad beast back in and it runs like a champ again, now im working on fixing the clutch and Im going to put it up for sale. but.. as of now Im looking for another one to keep, I heard about the H.O 91/newer. haven't found anything really yet.. found some stock ones for 3 grand around about. I will keep everything in mind, and keep looking if this doesnt come through if anyone knows of any good deals in the local Los angeles, CA area let me know, thanks [addsig]
