Front axle posi-lok system???

I'm am having a problem with my 95 Cherokee Sport. The brake lights will stay on when you turn the lights on. Step on the brake during the day the dash lights come on. I hate electrical, I have checked the brake switch on the pedal and that is ok. Could this possibly be the light switch itself in the dash?

Anytime my lights start acting in strange ways, the wrong light comes on or is dim etc. I start checking grounds. If you have a bad ground, the current is gonna flow through the wrong paths.
Another thing that will mess you up is hooking up add ons and bridging circuit loops. There are loops of circuits, segregated for a reason, if one loop is bridged to another strange things happen.
The harness for your rear lights runs through the drivers side door sill kick panel, itīs real easy to put a sheet metal screw through the harness, when replacing the door sill. Ask me how I know this.
