RE: Re: RE: Aging Jeep- For 2000 and up jeep owners

I drive a '97 Grand Cherokee V6 and or the last couple of months my engine has been whining upon initial startup but quits within a couple of minutes. It sounds as if it is coming under or behind the belt. I can no longer turn on the A/C because the whining returns and is unbearably loud. The A/C functions properly but the squeal/whine starts as soon as I turn on the A/C, and quits as soon as I turn it off. I hope to fix this myself but I don't know where to start.

Thank you for your time.
