RE: How much of a motor mount lift is needed for a flat bell

I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee.

About a month ago, my fan and A/C stopped working. I checked the fuse inside the engine compartment, it looked OK (I did NOT replace it). I figured I'd let it go.

Last nite, I discovered my heat does not work either.

I'm guessing it's something in the control panel.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, before I decide to rip apart the dash board.

I'm looking at my "Haynes" repair manual. I wanted to 1) Check which fuse to check and 2) find out how to tear apart the dash.

I cannot find the fuse block! I have the one in the engine compartment, but I cannot find the one under the dash. I found the flashers, but they are by thenselves, not on the fuse block.

I'm am getting thouroughly confused by this project.

RE: Got it

I still haven't found the fuse box.

I did remove the blower motor, hotwired it - it does work.

Any other ideas? Buy a new heater control panel?

Does the fan come on at all? My fan would only come on when the knob was set to high. If this is the case, it's you blower resistor. Might want to check it anyway.

fuse panel is on the "side" of the dash when the passenger's door is open!

97blkzj,

Thanks very much for the answer.

Unfortunately, all the fuses are good, and I still have no fan, A/C, heat.

Any more ideas, anyone? Buehler? Anyone? Buehler?

Jules,

I have no fan at all. No noise when I move the vent/def/off dial. No power when I push the A/C button.

when you say the fuses are all good, did you actually check them with an ohmmeter? visual inspection is not good enough, as they sometimes blow right at the end where you can't see it.

RE: CJ 5 vacuum diagram need help

Thanks for all the help, people. Unfortunately, I get the "Donkey" award for this one.

I had my neighbor take a look at it. What it was was this.

The center dial on the heater control panel was cracked on it's shaft. It felt like it was clicking (heat to vent to defrost), but it was actually slipping. It was stuck in the "OFF" position, and that is why nothing worked.

Thanks again,

WindLaker
