RE: Swap in a cruise control?
My wife has a '00 WJ laredo and it's starting to have automatic transmission problems. Sometimes it sticks between 2nd and 3rd gear. The RPMs will reach about 4K before it shifts. We haven't taken it to the garage yet as I just found out about this yesterday. Anyone had this before? Am I looking at major problems? She had the trans fluid changed ~25K miles ago.

Check for a throttle valve cable between the tranny and intake or throttle body, the older 4.0L jeeps had them and they were adjustible at the throttle body end. It may be a simple adjustment, probably outlined in a FSM (Factory Service Manual) if you can get access to one.
