Worth it?

Hey I was looking at the K&N fipk and was wondering...

Is it really worth it? Is there a noticeable difference, or is it all hype? Or do you need other parts along with it to make it worthwhile?

Re: Worth it?

its worth it... although you can get virtually the same setup from rusty's and a few other companies for quite a bit cheaper. k&n is just the "original" and i guess its personal opinion on whether or not it is truly a superior product. it does make a difference though... just check out the dyno tests.

Re: Worth it?

The conical K&N filter and airtube setup is a very worthwhile mod, but it can be done many ways for a lot cheaper than the FIPK. I used to run Rusty's, and now run a 4.0L TJ airtube with conical filter on my YJ. I recommend Rusty's airtube and filter for an XJ. You will notice a difference, more power and much quicker throttle response. You will get more intake noise but nothing bad.
