XJ wheel backspacing

So the lift is all done and I need new tires and wheels..The ones I have now don't have much left on 'em and the wheels are beat up.
what size backspacing should I be using 3 5/8? oh yeah 33X12.5 tires. Also whats the bolt pattern on my 2000 XJ 5 4.5"?

Anyone know a place to get a set of like 4 or 5 goodyear MT/Rs and wheels mounted and balanced?

Re: XJ wheel backspacing

Yes, 5x4.5" lug pattern. 3.5" or 4" backspacing should serve you well.

I'd reconsider the MT/R's, there are a lot better tires out there for less money.

What else? BFGs? I had MT/Rs on my TJ and loved them. My XJ got some old swampers and there is just TOO much noise and they're almost done as it is.

That's not going to work on your XJ.

It's 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern, yes, but you should go with at least 4.5" backspacing. 3.5 or 4.0 would have you tearing off your fenders. I had 32's with 5.0" and they tucked nicely into the wheelwells - no rubbing the arms, either. That would be too much for 33's because the tires would then hit your control arms. 4.5-4.75 would be your best bet unless you plan on trimming some serious sheetmetal.

www.naxja.com has a good forum if you want to look into it further.

Re: XJ wheel backspacing

whats the best way to tell my backspacing now? measure from my inside out? or outside out?

American racing says they are 3 3/4. The wheels now are no rubbing or hitting work perfect. I do plan in the future to put on flares and trim a little.
