Hello all.

well i picked up a 79 Cherokee and now i am in the process of wanting to make it the monster it deserves to be, and here are some questions and problems i see. I am in Southern California and a novice to Jeeps for many things.

First off, the gas/temp gauge: They are turned off and the guy i picked it up from handed me this little 3 prong cylanoid and said this controls them and was having a problem, but he didn't know where it came from (some mechanic pulled it). Anyone have an idea where to find one of those and where it goes back in?

Also, the engine is down a cylinder, looks like head gasket is leaking coolant in there so it is misfiring and I would like to drop a new engine in there. Anyone know of a place to get a new 360 for it? or can anyone point me to some information on dropping other types of engines in there, from a chevy 350 to something more powerful than should be allowed? I would replace the head gasket but this engine seems to leak and whine just a bit too much for my taste, rather just start anew.

Also going to need panels and other misc Interior items, anyone know where to pick these items up either in So Cal or on the Web. I am noticing these 79s' parts aren't

as readily available as other models.

THANKS FOR ANYONE'S HELP!! [addsig]
