diag code 1494 leak detection pump fault

My wife has a 2001 grand with the 4.0 auto trans. she has a check engine light. the code that comes up is a p 1494. leak dectection pump sw or mech fault. does any one have any where or what this is. I know I can fix it if I can find it. and would putting on a k&n intake system cause this?( this brought our gas milage from 15 to 18 mpg on avg.) got it on e-bay for $50.00

The LDP is located left front corner of the engine compartment, under the air cleaner housing, while you're there checked for cracked hoses and what not. Essentially the pump is there to check for leaks in the Evap system. So is the pump malfunctioning...or is there a leak in the system..
