1988 Jeep Cherokee - problems with lights

i just recently bought this jeep and have run into a few problems. some minor that are easily fixable, and others i have no clue about. I am having som problems with the electrical system and have noticed under my steering wheel that there are a few female plugs that are hanging unconnected...anyhow the brake, reverse, dash, and turn signals are all non working. I'm assuming some of these wires need to be plugged in , but to where ? are all the plugs right under the dash that go to these items that don't work? any help would be great....thanks, OLAF

A good starting point is getting a Manual with a wiring diagram.

Did you check fuses? The wires could be from a PO adding stuff.

If you have time to you can look under the dash and try to match up connectors. Where the hanging wires are should be close to where it plugs into.

Or feel free to post up some pictures up and I am sure someone can help you out.
