88 Jeep Cherokee Overheating

I own an 88 Jeep Cherokee and it is overheating. We have replaced the Thermostat, Radiator and Water Pump and it is still overheating. This is a closed system. Any suggestions... Thanks

Have you given thought to air being trapped in the system? Feast your eyes upon this website: Jeep Cherokee Engine Cooling System - Burp Air System - Modification

Re: 88 Jeep Cherokee Overheating

Do you hear pressure release when you open the overflow tank?

Also jack up the rear of the jeep and remove the temp sending unit at the rear of the head to get all the air out of the system.

A swap to an open cooling system from a newer XJ is a good upgrade.

Re: 88 Jeep Cherokee Overheating

After burping the system as described in the link (Thanks) and a new cap for the reserve tank, all is well. Thanks for the information.
