help

hey there, i have a 1988 jeep xj and it runs really hot, its been running around 210 or way less, i replace thermastat with a 160 and now it runs way past 210, my heater control valve broke and maybe some plastic is blocking something but latley its running around 260 any ideas

Welcome to the Z.

You may need to bleed the air from the cooling system. Park with the front of the jeep downhill and remove the temp sending unit near the back of the head, on the intake side. Fill with coolant until it comes out of this hole.

You may also need to replace your overflow bottle, it'll run hot if it's not airtight.
