Red face fog light wiring

hey everyone,
I am trying to wire fog lights into my 2000 XJ but I am trying to put the switch into the stock location. Does anyone have any diagrams or instructions to help me out with the wiring portion of this thanks.

Re: fog light wiring

I never realized there were so many varieties of XJ, this is the most likely setup (they have at least four different wiring diagrams for various models).

Where it says fog light relay number 1 going into the switch, can be a hot wire from the parking light circuit (in most cases). Where it says relay number 1 coming out of relay number 2 (pin 813), usually runs to a high beam hot wire in most setups (so the fogs go out when the high beams are on). The relay grounds through the high beam bulb when the high beam isn't powered up, sounds screwy but it works and the way it is often done.

In the original setup there is another relay (relay 1) hooked to various modules, that seems to be more than little overkill for a fog light control circuit IMO and redundant.

Hella (Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., though there site is hard to navigate) usually has instructions on how to wire up fog lights and there is often some online instructions and "how too" around. The Hella (fused relay) is dependable and a good piece to use, they also sell a Hella kit with instructions.
