How to adjust the kickdown throttle

I need to know how the easiest way to adjust the kickdown throttle in a 4x4 89 jeep cherokee laredo. Is it something that I can do alone or need special tools for or do I need to take it to a shop? Thanks for your help

There is no kickdown cable. There is a TV (throttle Valve) cable attached to the throttle linkage at the throttle body. I believe you push and hold the button on the linkage, manually open the throttle plate completely, and release the button.

If you loosen the cable, the shift speed goes higher. If you tighten the cable, it upshifts sooner.
