what transmission?
Ok to make this as short as possiable I own 2 XJ's 1990 and 92 I know these both have the AW4 I am in the market for a 98 to 01 XJ I was told to stay away from 2000 and up as in 2000 the AW4 was dropped and they used a chryco 3950? is this true? I heard this trans is a POS is it? could someone please help out? Thank you
Please give pros and cons if any.

Never heard of it, should still be the AW4.

AFAIK the trans was the same for auto, but the std trans switched to an NV3550. The best ones to stay away from have the coils directly on the plugs. Those have head cracking trouble due to casting flaws.
