I live in nj, want to add HID lights to my xj. Anyone who knows, the original lights suck. I can barley see. Is it legal to do this?

Check you local and state laws. Legal are D.O.T. Approved. Mainly has to do with beam spread and direction from the housing.

so I can change my xj lights to projector housings, and an HID kit? It is totally legal? In my state it doesn't say anything about it. That's why I was asking

HID headlights are an exception to most motor vehicle codes, meaning they're legal. Just make sure they're not the cheap ones that appear blue, green, or purple. Must be a white light. Your vehicle code is available online to verify.
