98' Cherokee starting issue

Our Jeep decided to take a break last night, it doesn't want to start.

I changed the starter about 2 months ago, and it's all been great since.

I've checked many videos, I tried rattling the shiftier to check the NSS. I rotated the relays, they are all working. I took the cover off of one of the relays and put it in the starter spot, and with the key in the run position if I manually open the relay circuit the jeep starts beautifully.

Could this be the electronics part of the ignition switch? I'm not sure how to test it, I'm normally good at troubleshooting things before running off to buy new parts. I'm just not familiar with the ignition system or hot wiring lol.

What can I check before replacing ignition? the key cylinder seems fine, the key has always worked, it doesn't stick, and it popped out just fine.

Thanks for any help!

Glad you got it fixed, and welcome to Jeepz.com. Post some photos of your Cherokee if you get a chance.
