A/C Noise

Would anyone know why the air conditioner makes a loud noise when in use?? :-? [addsig]

Where is the noise coming from? underhood or under dash..describe the noise and when it occurs.[addsig]

Hi, What model of Jeep are we talking about?

If the A/C is making a hissing type noise it is probably the expansion valve. It is normal for this valve to make some noise the first few seconds after the compressor kicks in.
If the noise is coming from the compressor, you may have abnormal pressures due to a partial system clog or a failing compressor.

its a 94 jeep cherokee and every time i use the A/C after about 10 minutes it starts to make a loud deep toned sound i think it is coming from the dashboard you can problaly hear it from outside the jeep too.[addsig]

Sounds like the blower motor...they make a mournful sound when the bearings start to fail. That is if its coming from under the dash. [addsig]
