I´d research a kit, approved by some sanctioning body. NHRA or the like. It really takes an engineer, to design one properly and even then, they mess it up some. I built roll cages for CAT´s, way back when, we´d take a work holiday and go see, how our worked failed, when a CAT driver was killed or injured.

Check your local 4wd center.I had my tubes cut and bent at The Four Wheel Drive Center in Minneapolis. The materials were $5 per foot for 1.75 DOM tubing plus $15 per bend. I took care of the welding to save a couple of bucks.
