Is the "Up Country" factory lift of 2" decent and will it have the "death wobble" problem I read about?

What else does anybody know of this lift?

Found a 2001 Limited with the lift, tow package, and 54000 miles for 12500. Seems like a good deal but what should I be looking for to make sure ?

If you do a search for death wobble (button at top of page), you'll get about 20 different threads. Everything from alignment, to tire balancing, driveshaft vibes, etc. It's a very common xj problem after you lift.

Right, but this lift is straight from factory. It was an option which must be fairly uncommon because it is rarely mentioned anywhere and I did not have any hits when searching the forums here.

I thought maybe someone would know if Jeep as the INSTALLER of the factory lift also had problems with wobble. I do not see any Technical Service Bulletins listing such problems.

I have a friend with that lift. He has never mentioned any problems with it. It looks really good and you can definatly tell it's there. But other then that, the first time i heard of it, it was news to me too.

"Up Country" factory lift is only 1", and it is not commonly associated with more occurances of death wobble. It may have slight rear driveshaft vibes from the factory, my buddy's '99 with UC did. The dealership's fix was to install a small transfer case drop.

DW is common in all coil spring jeeps, more common with larger lifts and heavier tires. The Jeep you mention should be fine and sounds nice.

    Thanks for the info.

As it turns out I'm still looking for the perfect Jeep, the one I mentioned had a leaky rear wheel bearing seal which was losing diff. fluid.
